Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for multiple Nurse Unit Managers to join us in permanent, full-time roles. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. As Mater’s newest public hospital, this state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds, ICU, maternity, emergency and surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Salary range: $71.42 - $76.80 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a NUM, you will play a pivotal role in clinical leadership, operational management, and driving excellence in patient-centred care. You'll be supported by a collaborative leadership team and encouraged to lead innovation and continuous improvement in your unit.
About you
You will have a minimum of five years full time experience in the relevant area as a Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse or other leadership role:
- Extensive leadership experience within a nursing unit in a complex hospital environment
- Demonstrated competence in cost centre management.
- High-level interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills with the ability to engage with internal stakeholders at various levels to achieve
- Current AHPRA Nursing registration
- Experienced in opening a new ward is desirable
