About the role

Mater is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analytics Officer to join our Data & Analytics team at our Newstead location. This full-time, maximum-term 12-month position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of innovative data solutions that support healthcare outcomes.

Salary range: $49.96 to $51.73 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As a Data Analytics Officer, you will be an integral part of Mater’s Data & Analytics team, ensuring our analytics solutions deliver maximum value to the organisation.

In this role, you will provide responsive, customer-focused support for analytics platforms and services, helping stakeholders access accurate, timely insights that drive informed decision-making.

You will take ownership of service delivery by efficiently triaging and resolving service management tickets, maintaining clear and professional communication throughout the process.

Beyond day-to-day support, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ensure the accuracy and accessibility of technical documentation and knowledge repositories.

About you

To be considered for this position you should have:

  • A strong customer-focused mindset, committed to delivering exceptional service and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly language for non-technical audiences.
  • Solid technical aptitude, including the ability to troubleshoot, support, and maintain data and analytics solutions effectively.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a tertiary degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, particularly in user access management, administration, and support.
  • Exposure to SQL and relational databases, with practical skills in writing T-SQL and using SQL Server Management Studio to support analytics applications in a multi-system business environment.
  • A collaborative approach, working effectively across diverse teams and supporting colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.
  • Experience or a genuine interest in the healthcare industry, which is highly desirable but not essential.
