About the role
Mater’s Digital Technology and Information team currently have an exciting opportunity to join the team as an Automation Specialist in a fixed-term full time capacity until 21st February 2027.
The Automation Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing robotic process automation solutions to streamline and enhance business workflows. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to analyse processes, identify automation opportunities and deploy scalable solutions.
This role reports to the Manager Digital Solutions.
Salary range: $62.74 - $67.20 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Develop DTI technical knowledge repositories ensuring they are in line with standards and regulations.
Develop and designs solutions adhering to efficient change and release management for the delivery of digital solutions.
Provide support to training and mentoring of team members on agreed standards, technology adoption and skill gaps.
Apply problem-solving skills which may not be governed by policy, procedure, instructions or guidelines.
Develops Enhance and contribute to automation frameworks including standards and policies.
Maintain subject matter expertise in a body of knowledge of trends in technology in healthcare or other industries and share this with other team members.
Implement continuous improvement activities and innovation identified.
Manage multiple and changing priorities with sometimes conflicting deadlines.
Use subject matter expertise when engaging with stakeholders as part of investigations and resolution of incidents identified in production.
Contribute to design, build, test, deploy and maintain test & process automation solutions adhering to development standards and guidelines to achieve high quality business outcomes aligned to business goals and strategy.
About you
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a relevant field (essential)
2 – 3 years of demonstrated experience as an Automation Developer
Prior experience in the Health Industry (Desirable)
Experience in designing and implementing organisational change and efficiency improvement initiatives (Desirable)
Knowledge in ITIL functions
Experienced working in Agile, Kanban, Waterfall delivery models
Natural curiosity about external or internal customer processes and problems, and a drive with solving those problems effectively (Desirable)
Experience in developing reports using Power BI (Desirable)
Ability to program in various programming languages including – Python, VB, C#, .Net, Java, Python, VB
Broad knowledge of current development tools and technologies (Middleware and integration software, SQL, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps etc)
Experienced in using source control tools such as GitHub, Azure Repos, Bit Bucket
Expert Strong levels of both written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project or similar products
Experience in developing process automation use cases with RPA tools - UiPath, Power Automate Desktop, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere etc
Experience in migrating UiPath platforms from on-premises environments to UiPath Automation Cloud. (Desirable)
Understanding of cloud architecture, security, authentication, and governance within UiPath environments.(Desirable)
Strong knowledge on business process management and BPMN nomenclature using tools such as Visio
Broad knowledge of current development tools and technologies (Middleware and integration software, SQL, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps etc) (Desirable)
