About the role

MCCC are searching for an experienced Registered Nurse interested in taking the next step in their career as a Cancer Care Coordinator on a permanent full time basis. The Mater Cancer Care Centre (MCCC) aims to offer all patients, regardless of their level of health insurance cover, access to a modern state-of-the-art facility that provides comprehensive and compassionate care that is individually personalised.

The Mater Cancer Care Centre includes: specialist suites (oncology and haematology), consultation rooms, 40 cancer care treatment pods (including apheresis), palliative care, support programs and a specialised pharmacy. The layout of the centre enables a holistic approach to cancer care all from the one convenient location. Consultations, treatment and a retail pharmacy are all in the once centre with allied health also available.

As the Cancer Care Coordinator (CCC) you will be responsible for engaging directly with the patient to assist in navigating their treatment pathways which includes their inpatient cares in the Mater Adults Hospital. The coordination of care should be planned to meet the patient’s individual medical and personal needs. The CCC is the focal touch point for patients during their treatment and is responsible for the coordination of support services to see patients safely through treatment. Furthermore, you will use your expert clinical expertise and knowledge to undertake comprehensive holistic assessments to identify complex patients to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Salary range: $49.16 - $55.19 (RN Level 3) per hour plus superannuation 

About you

  • As the successful candidate you will have: 
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience in cancer nursing
  • Post-graduate qualifications in cancer nursing or equivalent (highly desirable)
