About the role

Mater Mother’s Hospital is seeking enthusiastic and passionate Registered Midwives to join the Public Postnatal Unit with multiple fixed term and part-time opportunities available. (June/July 2021 and 32-36 hours per week). Our services are available to women ranging from the care of normal, low risk women through to complex obstetric and medical care requiring an extensive multidisciplinary approach. 

This is a wonderful chance to work within our dedicated team and have the opportunity to utilise and expand your skills providing care for women. 



Salary range: $35.43-$45.53 per hour plus superannuation 


What you’ll be doing

Within this role you will be working in a public postnatal setting with a supportive team and enjoy the opportunity to deliver evidence-based care to women with both normal and complex care needs. Your extensive experience and skills you bring to the role will ensure you will adapt easily to requirements of this post-natal ward and make you a valued member of a team that is committed to delivering exceptional midwifery care. 


About you

The successful candidates will have:


  • Current registration with AHPRA with midwifery endorsement
  • At least two years post graduate experience as a Registered Midwives, preferably within a postnatal unit
  • Demonstrated high levels of communication (both written and verbal) and clinical problem solving skills
  • Evidence of continuing educational and professional development, preferably post graduate qualifications
  • Commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
  • Ability to work in a team environment including the larger multidisciplinary team.
