We have fantastic opportunities for Clinical Pharmacists to join our Clinical Services team on permanent and fixed-term basis, working either full-time or part-time hours predominantly at our South Brisbane campus with the opportunity to also work at Mater Springfield and Mater Redland at times.
Mater Health Services, South East Queensland comprises a unique collection of two public and four private hospitals caring for over 500,000 patients each year including the Mater Mothers Hospital, a premier women’s health facility and Queensland’s largest maternity care provider having over 10,000 births per year. Mater Pharmacy provides a clinical service to all inpatient areas so this represents a fantastic opportunity to make a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of this community and to contribute to a strong, unified, inter-professional Clinical Services team at Mater.
What you'll be doing
You will work closely with hospital staff and patients to deliver a consistently high level of clinical pharmacy service by providing customers, patients, carers and other health professionals with support and information relating to medication and by upholding medication safety practices. Depending on your experience and interest, opportunities may exist to work within a range of clinical specialties including haematology, oncology, neurosciences, adolescent health, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology among others.
The role will rotate through a variety of public and private inpatient wards as well as working in the central dispensary and will require you to be available to work weekdays as well as sharing the evening, public holiday and weekend rosters.

We provide a comprehensive pharmacy service and strive to maintain the highest level of professionalism in all our services. In addition to clinical pharmacy services, we provide traditional community pharmacy medicines and retail products to patients, visitors and staff.
Salary range: $36.48 - $48.85 per hour (Health Practitioner Level 3) plus superannuation
To be considered for this role you must have:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy
- APHRA registration to practice as a Pharmacist (without restrictions)
- Previous experience within a clinical / hospital pharmacy setting
- Prior demonstrated experience in ward-based clinical pharmacy will be highly regarded
- The flexibility to work all shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- The ability to work at all Mater Hospital locations including South Brisbane, Redland and Springfield will be highly regarded
You will also demonstrate a professional attitude, effective communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.
