About the role
Mater currently has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse or Registered Nurse to step into the role of Venue Health Monitor (VHM) to join the Hotel Quarantine Management Team (HQMT). This is a fixed term contract offered on a part-time or full-time basis (0.84 - 1.00 FTE available).
Mater Health Service (MHS) currently provides support to 4 hotels across Brisbane under the remit of Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS).
This is a great opportunity for a CN or RN who is looking to expand their non-clinical skills within a unique community setting. This role will provide fantastic experience across a range of areas including leadership, infection control and community health.
Salary range: $36.48 - $48.8 (HP3) per hour plus superannuation
What you’ll be doing
The purpose of this role is to provide support to guests requiring Hotel Quarantine accommodation as per state government direction.
The VHM role provides an active and visible health presence across the quarantine hotels. Providing relevant and accurate Queensland Health information on supports services, established infection control processes and policies relevant to the quarantine accommodation environment is an integral part of the VHM role.
The VHM works in conjunction with the Covid Safety Manager (CSM) role to provide quarantined guests with psychosocial support, facilitation and linkage of care and support pathways.
In addition, the VHM role forms part of the on-site COVID-19 testing teams and is tasked with performing scheduled and Ad Hoc COVID-19 testing for quarantined guests alongside Mater Phlebotomy staff.
To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and experience:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse / Midwife (no restrictions)
- Possession of a relevant post graduate qualification (i.e. Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Master’s Degree) or evidence of enrolment in such a program is highly desirable
- This position may be required to travel and work across all MHS Hotels within Brisbane City
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum 1st dose) and willingness to undertake daily (saliva) /weekly (OP, NP) surveillance testing
- Previous experience working ‘out of hours’ is highly desirable
