About the role

Mater Mothers’ Hospital is currently seeking applications from experienced Lactation Consultants to within their Breastfeeding Support Unit. The position is on a Fixed Term will be for a period of  4 months from the 3/7/22 - 3/11/22 on a part time basis 48hrs hours per fortnight.

Providing exceptional care and support of women and their families, Mater Mothers' Hospitals offer integrated services covering obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology, and maternal fetal medicine. 

Salary range: $48.66-$52.13 (RN2) per hour plus superannuation & salary packaging

What you'll be doing

As an integral member of the team, you will be a part of providing a collaborative service across Mater Health Services, including the provision of individual and group breastfeeding support and education for staff and families, with a special focus for those accessing our well-baby service. 

About you

To be successful in your application for this position it is essential that you have: 

  • Current Midwifery registration and IBCLC (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant) qualification
  • Sound knowledge of BFHI (Baby Friendly Health Initiative) implementation and accreditation
  • Expereince as a Child Health Nurse desirable
  • Your experience in the area of full-term babies and breastfeeding support is desirable
  • As well as a demonstrated interest in the area of neonatology and preterm infants
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience and interest providing education whilst in the role of Lactation Consultant
