About The Role

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Human Resources team as an Injury Management Specialist. This role will be offered as a permanent, full-time role and we offer a hybrid working model including both our Newstead corporate office, our South Brisbane campus and working from home options.

The role involves working directly with our employees, management and medical teams, to provide your professional expertise in injury management and workplace rehabilitation. You will deliver injury management and workplace rehabilitation through exceptional customer service.  Your professional expertise will be utilised in the development, implementation and continual improvement of workers compensation case management and complex non-work-related rehabilitation programs across the organisation.

What you will be doing:

This role will see you working as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation and injury management team to design, deliver and achieve quality return to work and rehabilitation outcomes for injured employees. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitate optimal rehabilitation outcomes through implementation of early intervention strategies, and rehabilitation programmes that promote ‘recover at work’ principles.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate service delivery and improve injury management outcomes
  • Undertake effective end to end case management for all Workers Compensation claims, and complex non-work-related medical conditions
  • Provide education and support to managers and employees in relation to injury management, Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation
  • Assessment and analysis of workplace duties to develop return to work programmes and update the inherent task demand document library
  • Coordinate and manage regular case conferences or meetings with key stakeholders
  • Maintain case management and rehabilitation records to a high standard
  • Undertake complex ergonomic and workplace assessments
  • Support and participate in practice improvement and efficiencies to streamline work and manage variable caseloads
  • Provide clinical expertise and recommendations during the pre-employment health screening processes

About you: To be successful in this role you will possess the following;

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong injury management capabilities with experience in facilitating strategies to support workers’ recovery at work following an injury/illness
  • Approachable with a mature and confident attitude
  • The ability to work independently, as well as within a multidisciplinary team, within a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification – in an Allied Health or clinically based discipline
  • Previous experience in a similar role
