About the role
Mater is currently seeking a dedicated Inpatient Billing Officer to join the Inpatient Billing Team. This is a permanent full-time position based at Mater’s purpose-built corporate office in Newstead.
In this role you will process patient accounts and payments efficiently and effectively to ensure optimal revenue generation
Salary range: $39.84 - $43.90 (MCAS4) per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging
What you’ll be doing
- Accurate billing of patients, health funds and other third-party insurers according to relevant Health Fund Contracts to ensure maximum revenue is obtained.
- Process accounts and assist with the resolution of account queries for patients and Health Funds.
- Manage eclipse rejections and billing errors.
- Manage requests and follow up of certification and other documentation required for health fund billing.
- Follow up of outstanding debt.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external clients at all times.
About you
To be successful in your application, you will have:
- Previous experience of working in a health-related environment, particularly in the area of health fund contracts, debt collection or patient billing.
- Knowledge of or the ability to acquire knowledge of the terms and conditions of health fund contracts
- Excellent telephone and face-to-face communication skills
- Ability to have complex financial conversations with patients in a sensitive manner
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and also work unsupervised
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
