About the role

Mater Hospital Mackay are seeking expressions of interest from experienced and passionate Endorsed Enrolled Nurses who are interested in opportunities within the Mater on a casual basis.

Education and training opportunities are available, as well as flexible shift opportunities. However, candidates must be available to work all shift types across a 24/7 roster, including early, late, night, and weekend shifts.

Salary range: $34.84 - $37.10 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900

What you’ll be doing

As an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse, you will provide patient-centred nursing care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse on duty. Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:

  • Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
  • Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
  • Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
  • Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
  • Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

About you

Ideally, you will have prior nursing experience, but graduates are encouraged to apply and will be considered.

To be successful in this position, you will have the following:

  • Current AHPRA nursing registration as an Enrolled Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Prior experience as an Enrolled Nurse in General Surgery or another similar field would be highly desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is delivered to patients at all times
