About the Role

Mater Private Hospital Redlands has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Day Procedure Unit. The successful candidate will be offer Permanent Part Time employment at 32 hours a week.

Mater's Day Procedure Unit is open Monday to Saturday and forms a critical part of Mater Hospital Redlands Surgical and Acute Nursing Services. These positions provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy a great work/life balance while working in a challenging and rewarding clinical environment.  

The Perioperative Unit is a dedicated area caring for people through their surgery journey. The highly skilled and passionate staff provide outstanding patient-centred care to people recovering from relatively minor through to the more complex procedures. 

Salary range: $41.47 - $53.30 (Registered Nurse Level 1) per hour plus superannuation & salary packaging up to $15,900

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing quality care to patients undergoing Endoscopy and minor procedures. Includes pre/intra and post procedure care.
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with other health professionals in the delivery of health care including preparing patients for discharge
  • Working to ensure continuous quality improvement and abiding by risk management guidelines

You will be part of a team of professionals who take pride in providing the highest levels of patient care. The team is supportive, approachable and patient focused and provides excellent training and development opportunities.

About you
To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience within a day procedures environment, regarding admissions, recovery & discharge of patients from a busy unit.
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
  • Strong patient-service focus, demonstrated commitment to continued service improvement, willingness to facilitate and encourage cohesive, positive professional relationships
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills to improve our patient’s care outcomes relevant to the Day Procedure Unit.
