About the role

Mater Mothers’ Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife to be orientated and learn the role for the nurse in Growth & Development Clinic. This is a permanent part-time position at 8 hours per week.

In this role, you will enjoy being part of a team of professionals who take pride in providing quality care in an ambulatory setting. The successful applicant/s will be someone with experience assisting families to navigate the journey with a baby born prematurely, explore options to engage families post discharge and facilitate follow up for hip ultrasounds in the neonatal period.

Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards you will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the efficient operational flow of the clinic
  • Engaging with families on arrival and perform baseline assessments and screening
  • Reviewing results and communicating with families and relevant teams
  • Supporting research activities pertaining to the Growth and Development Clinic
  • Reviewing and developing strategies to improve family engagement and experience in the ambulatory setting.

About you

You will be driven by a challenging, yet rewarding environment where you can bring your energy and experience to this well established and highly regarded ambulatory setting. Other skills and experience include:

  • Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Minimum 2yrs experience as a neonatal nurse
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
  • Self-motivated and independent in identifying and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and patient experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously
  • Commitment to ensuring high level of consumer experience
  • Proficiency with digital platforms
