About the role
Mater is currently seeking applications for Support Service Assistants to work within our housekeeping/orderly department on a permanent part-time basis 15.2 hours per week based at our Mater Springfield campus.
Please note the availability we require for these shifts are: Thursday and Friday Night Shift, 7.36 hours. We will also require you to fill in for any sick or booked leave as required.
We are not offering alternative shifts at this time so please ensure when you apply that you are available Thursday and Friday for evening shifts.
Salary range: $31.27 - $33.77 (Operational Officers Level 2) per hour plus superannuation & casual loading
The Support Services team is a welcoming and friendly team, consisting of many ages and cultures who work collaboratively in a variety of areas, including Housekeeping/Cleaning, Waste Services, Linen Services, Equipment Delivery/Collection/Orderly/Porterage Services.
The purpose of this role is to uphold our exemplary hygiene standards by providing high level cleaning duties, which includes theatre cleaning in addition to general area cleaning.
Please note, theatre cleaning can include the disposal of blood or bloodied material, and/or discarded theatre waste products.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
To ensure our new team member can hit the ground running and contribute immediately, you will have significant experience in Housekeeping/Cleaning or previous hospital cleaning roles. Food services and Administration experience are not necessary to perform the role.

As you will frequently be around patients, you will be an effective communicator with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
