Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Team Leader – Supply Chain Operations to join us in a permanent, full-time role. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. As Mater’s first new public hospital in over 60 years, this state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds, ICU, maternity, emergency and surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.

The Team Leader - Supply Chain Operations is part of a centralised Mater Supply Chain Operations team, which is focused on building collaborative, customer-focused relationships and adopting a business partnering approach.

Salary range: $93,103 - $102,572 (MCA4) per annum plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing 

You will lead and supervise a team to deliver cohesive, collaborative supply chain operations services to Mater customers, ensuring an outcomes orientation and commitment to achieving performance objectives.

  • Actively participate in implementation activities to support the introduction of a new operating model and new ways of working, which are focused on consistent and compliant process adoption, team development and ongoing improvement
  • Coach and advise team members on change and ensure a clear understanding of the vision and purpose of the change. Supervision of operations
  • Oversee operational workflow and ensure regular communication on performance expectations
  • Identify issues and raise with the leadership team, working collaboratively to provide solutions for Mater customers. Customer service
  • Participate in ongoing stakeholder engagement activities which contribute feedback and insight into regional issues including demand, customer expectations and team.
  • Support the regional team to address issues and resolve, ensuring a visible presence in all areas of operations.
  • Work with team members to improve customer service standards and delivery of outcomes, working to proactively identify ways to improve for Mater. Team development
  • Focus on supporting and developing the regional supply chain operations through regular discussions, performance reviews and coaching.
  • Identify learning and development opportunities focused on ways to drive cultural change. Interprofessional Leadership
  • Promote the philosophy of health care and the values of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy.
  • Actively build awareness and understanding of Mater Group and Mater Health values.
  • Positively promote the Hospital and the Mater Health organisation both internally and externally. Quality, risk and governance
  • Adhere to the Supply Chain Operations processes, clinical and professional governance rules for Procurement and Supply Chain Operations.
  • Follow Work Health and Safety guidelines and report all incidents

About you

Ideally you will hold a Diploma in Purchasing or Inventory Management, or equivalent is desirable. You will also meet the below criteria:

  • Demonstrated team leadership experience ideally gained in a large, complex organisation
  • Must have experience of leading change and be able to demonstrate sound change management capability
  • Demonstrated experience in supply chain operations, ideally gained in a healthcare organisation, is desirable
  • Must have a good knowledge and experience of ERP platforms or purchasing and inventory management platforms
  •  Demonstrated IT skills and be able to work with the MS Office suite, online collaboration tools and workflow/project management applications. Behavioural Competencies
