About the role
Mater’s Clinical Education Team is seeking an experienced Anaesthetic Clinical Nurse or Registered Nurse to backfill the Clinical Facilitator (CF) role, working 48 hours per fortnight (Wednesday, Thursday, Fridays) until 26th June 2026.
In this position, you will support the Education Coordinator in delivering education strategies aligned with Mater Health’s Strategic and Operational Plans. The role focuses on promoting and implementing best practice, fostering critical thinking and clinical problem-solving, and ensuring consistency in care delivery through a robust, evidence-based education model.
Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the coordination and delivery of the 12-month Perioperative Graduate Nurse Program. Working collaboratively with the Education Coordinator and wider clinical team, you will help design, implement, and evaluate structured learning experiences that promote a smooth transition from novice to confident practitioner.
- Supporting the professional development of the nursing team and fostering a culture of safe, high-quality, evidence-based care
- Coordinating, providing, and monitoring education programs that meet unit-based and organisational objectives, including mandatory and role-requisite training
- Supporting initiatives aligned with the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, and assisting with the revision and implementation of new policies, models of care, and best practice frameworks
- Providing clinical facilitation, mentorship, and ongoing evaluation of education and practice improvement initiatives
About you
- A minimum of three (3) years of recent clinical experience as an Anaesthetic Registered Nurse within the perioperative environment
- PACU trained (highly desirable)
- Ability to support staff in care of high acuity complex anaesthetic patients
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification (highly desirable)
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant specialty and/or education (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in clinical facilitation, preceptorship, and mentoring
- High-level communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Desirable: TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or willingness to work towards completion
