About the role

Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking a motivated and adaptable Senior Administration Officer to join our Administration Services team in a permanent part-time role (16 hours per week).

This position plays a vital role in providing relief support across the Business Support Officer portfolio, assisting 12 roles and more than 18 departments to ensure seamless administrative coverage during periods of leave and peak demand. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a dynamic, varied role that supports operational efficiency across the hospital.

Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

You will deliver high-quality administrative support to a range of departments, contributing to smooth day-to-day operations and exceptional service delivery. This includes coordinating meetings, managing data entry and reporting tasks, supporting rostering and recruitment processes, and maintaining departmental systems and records. You’ll also assist with purchasing, invoicing, correspondence, and resource coordination. In this relief-based role, you will work flexibly across multiple areas, ensuring continuity of service and supporting leaders in achieving business objectives.

About you

You will bring a proactive, collaborative approach and a passion for supporting teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will also have:

  • Previous administration experience, ideally within a healthcare or complex service environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Sound Microsoft Office skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience
  • The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a wider team
  • A positive, solutions-focused mindset with a willingness to adapt and support multiple departments as needed
