About the role
Mater Private Hospital Brisbane has an exciting opportunity for a Guest Service Assistant – Housekeeping to join our team in a casual capacity. This role is essential in supporting a safe, welcoming, and hygienic hospital environment, where your work has a direct impact on patient care, comfort, and experience every day.
Salary range: $32.83 - $35.39 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining exceptional cleanliness and infection control standards across the hospital, including:
- Delivering high-quality cleaning services across patient wards, clinical, surgical, and emergency areas
- Maintaining best-practice hygiene and infection control standards, including high-touch point cleaning
- Using cleaning equipment, chemicals, and PPE safely and in line with policies and procedures
- Responding positively to changing priorities and supporting operational demands
- Communicating respectfully and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues
- Contributing to a safe, organised, and professional hospital environment
About you
You are a reliable and detail-focused team member who takes pride in contributing to patient safety and comfort, and you will bring:
- A strong commitment to cleanliness, infection control, and workplace safety
- High attention to detail with excellent time management and organisation skills
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- A respectful, compassionate approach when interacting with patients and visitors
- Willingness to complete mandatory training and follow Mater policies and standards
- Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare or hotel setting (desirable but not essential)
- Certificate III in Cleaning Operations (desirable but not essential)
