About the role
The Mater Mothers’ Hospital Administration Team has an opportunity available for an experienced Senior Administration Officer to join their team on a permanent part-time basis, working a 9-day fortnight.
The Senior Administration Officer plays a key role in the delivery of exceptional service to Mater Mothers’ Hospital. The core function of the role is to provide administrative support and customer service to patients, staff and visitors but ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the service.
The role works closely with the Clinical and Administration Teams at Mater Mothers.
Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits! benefits!
Provide exceptional front line customer service to all patients, staff and visitors that attend Mater Mothers Hospitals
Provide telephone support both external and internal enquiries
Ensure accurate patient records in Mater’s patient administration system
Perform registrations, admissions, transfers and discharges both public and private patients
Create, prepare and manage current attendance records to ensure safe keeping of clinical documents and timely scanning
Filing, faxing, scanning, photocopying and other clerical support tasks
High level understanding of patient and record privacy legislation and Mater’s policy regarding disclosure
Understanding of informed financial consent and online eligibility checks for private patients
Identify, report, respond to and rectify workplace health and safety (WHS) concerns from within own reporting structure

About you
To be successful in this role you will meet the following in the following:
Maintain a high level of confidentially of both personal and financials within the business
Maintains up to date knowledge on procedures and policies of the work area/s
Ensure effective, accurate and timely communication with staff and clients, communicating with professionalism, sensitivity and discretion
Ensure accurate data entry using appropriate electronic systems
Exercise judgement and initiative within define procedures, precedents, guidelines and instructions
Maintain a safe working environment complying with Workplace Health and Safety and anti-discrimination policies
Support and assist other team members within the business as required
Comply with and adhere to Mater Health Services and the private practice policies, procedures, standards and legislation relevant to the role and business unit
