About the role

Mater is currently looking for Patient Facilitation Services Liaison Officer to join the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane Administration team. This is a permanent, full-time position based at South Brisbane.

In this role you will supervise and manage Patient Facilitation Services team, to ensure key performance indicators are met for service delivery, and to contribute to admissions improvement processes in the designated work area.

Salary range: $46.96 - $51.73 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will provide high-quality operational coordination and patient facilitation support, ensuring seamless service delivery for customers, clinicians, and patients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate referrals, assessments, advice, and direct care services, ensuring timely access to key clinical personnel
  • Manage Surgery Connect patient workloads, digital invoicing, and referral timelines in line with TEC requirements
  • Monitor patient progress from referral through TEC and outpatient care, recording milestones and producing required reports within agreed timeframes
  • Provide problem-solving support to streamline processes for customers, clinicians, and patients
  • Identify opportunities to extend or improve services through the Mater Patient Facilitation Service
  • Ensure accurate, timely recording, approval, and reporting of patient activity in accordance with contract requirements
  • Coordinate patient documentation and information exchange, adhering to privacy and confidentiality standards
  • Support patients with follow-up appointments, clinical pathway coordination, and access to interpreters when required
  • Prepare patient estimates and self-insured rates for international patients, working closely with the Mater Private Inpatient Finance team
  • Support workforce coordination by monitoring staff hours, managing sick leave notifications, and arranging replacement shifts as required
  • Assist with departmental reporting by reviewing labour hours and rosters
  • Communicate effectively, accurately, and sensitively with staff, clinicians, customers, and patients at all times

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess strong leadership skills as well as:

  • Previous administration experience within a healthcare environment and experience using medical terminology, SCAN & D365
  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly accurate data entry skills  
  • High level computer skills and the knowledge of or the ability to efficiently learn hospital computer database programs.
  • Excellent time management to ensure deadlines are met and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills at a high level.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team.
  • A willingness to learn, develop and grow.
