About the role
Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our teams across the Medical, Surgical and Rehabilitation units. We offer excellent flexibility, with opportunities ranging from Permanent Part-Time (0.6 FTE) through to Full-Time. Choose the arrangement that best suits your lifestyle! To be considered for this opportunity, this role requires participation in a 24/7 rotating roster including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
Mater Bundaberg is a 59-bed facility comprising both surgical and medical/rehabilitation units. Our Surgical Ward manages a diverse range of cases including orthopaedics, gynaecology, general surgery, and ENT procedures. Our Medical/Rehabilitation Ward supports patients across the acute and sub-acute spectrum, providing comprehensive care tailored to individual recovery needs.
Salary range: $41.73 - $53.53 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Conduct systematic and accurate nursing assessments for medical and post‑operative patients.
- Implement and evaluate evidence‑based nursing interventions within scope of practice.
- Advocate for patients by providing education and ensuring informed consent is obtained.
- Promote a safe clinical environment that supports patient dignity, security and wellbeing.
- Adhere to Infection Prevention and Control policies and safe clinical practices.
- Comply with organisational policies, procedures and clinical guidelines.

About you
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with no practice restrictions
- Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Registered Nurse
- Experience in an acute hospital setting desired but not essential
- Proven clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing care
- Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care and outcomes
- Knowledge and commitment to continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
- Demonstrates a collaborative and engaging approach to teamwork and the ability to work within the multi-disciplinary team
