About the role

Mater Health is looking for an Allied Health Professional – MYAHC to join our team. This permanent, part-time (30 hours per week) role will be based at our South Brisbane Campus.

This role works closely with allied health, psychiatry and medical team members to ensure clients receive holistic, trauma informed and developmentally appropriate care.

Salary range: $39.86 - $58.59 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

Mater is seeking an allied health team member to join the young adult team. The Allied Health Professional will be skilled in providing relevant psychosocial support and assessments for patients, including families, carers, and significant others. They will work predominately in the inpatient unit delivering comprehensive interventions in both one-on-one and group settings. There is also the opportunity to work in the outpatient space supporting young adults with co-occuring mental health conditions and chronic health conditions (such as type 1 diabetes).

About you

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Psychologist is highly desirable
  • Qualifications relevant to profession
  • Experience facilitating therapeutic groups (desirable)
  • A passion for working with adolescences and young adults
  • Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skill in the provision of mental health interventions for adolescents and young adults 
  • Proven experience and ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, establish priorities, exercise initiative, and deliver outputs within agreed timeframes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability and experience in establishing and developing key relationships with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to professional development and quality improvement and /or research in psychology
  • Demonstrated commitment to work, health and safety and positive patient experience
