About the role 

Mater Private Hospital Redlands has an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused Administrator to join our team in a casual capacity. You will need to have the ability to work the below shifts:

0600-1900 Monday to Friday

0800-1400 Saturday & Sunday (Occasional)

In this role you will be providing high-quality administrative support while contributing to the delivery of exceptional service for our patients, visitors and clinical teams.

Working closely with the Administration Team Leader/Manager and wider multidisciplinary team, you will proactively manage a range of administrative, business support and coordination activities. You will work with a degree of autonomy, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on patient experience, data quality, operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

Salary range: $39.79 – $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $18,550 + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing 

• Providing a high level of administrative support to clinical and operational teams
• Delivering exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, medical practitioners and staff
• Managing reception activities, including patient admissions and discharges
• Conducting health fund eligibility checks and processing patient payments
• Supporting bookings, appointments, admissions and course enrolments
• Assisting with banking reconciliation, purchasing and inventory management
• Coordinating maintenance requests and general operational support activities
• Performing clinical transcription, records management and patient information requests.
• Monitoring and maintaining data quality, identifying and correcting discrepancies as required
• Supporting rostering activities in line with relevant work instructions and enterprise agreements

About you 

• Exceptional customer service skills and a patient-centred approach
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse information to identify issues and implement solutions
• Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and healthcare information systems
• Well-developed problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills
• Experience working within a hospital, healthcare or medical setting (desirable)
• Knowledge of health information systems and patient administration processes
