About the role

Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking a Clinical Nurse to work within our Medical team. This position will be employed on a permanent part time basis, between 24 - 32 hours per week. Mater has finalised the strategic acquisition of Healthscope’s Gold Coast Private Hospital, this is a significant milestone in Mater’s commitment to delivering exceptional and compassionate care to Queensland communities.

Based at our Gold Coast Campus, this role will be part of our state-of-the-art 339 bed facility located in Southport. This facility was established in 2016 and offers a wide range of specialities across Emergency, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastics, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology. 

Salary range: $57.48 - $61.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Team Leading, delivering and evaluating evidence‑based nursing care within your scope of practice
  • Advocating for patients through education, informed consent, and shared decision‑making
  • Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures
  • Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups
  • Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices
  • Complies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines

About you

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Minimum of 1 post grad experience working within an acute medical setting
  • High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
  • The ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate patient care and competency in clinical problem solving
  • Available to work across all shifts
  • Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications and the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment data
