About the role

Mater Built Environment currently has a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Director Capital Works to join the team. This role reports to the Director Built Environment and will be offered as full time, permanent position, and based at our South Brisbane campus.

 

You will provide executive level leadership, planning, management, budget responsibility and overall responsibility for the delivery of capital works projects.

Salary range: Commensurate with experience

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Responsible for the delivery of Capital Works Projects on behalf of the Mater that can range in value from $20,000 to several hundred Million dollars;
  • Program Coordination of multiple project managers and projects with a wide range of complexity;
  • Management of both building and infrastructure records, drawings and documents;
  • Management of Space Allocations and Space Planning for a complex that has in excess of 310,000m2 of floor space;
  • Management of Complex Way finding systems and signage;
  • Management of Built Heritage Assets and alignment to the Heritage Conservation Management Plan;
  • Provide input and advice to strategic planning related to facilities and assets of the organisation;
  • Manage high level collaboration, negotiation and communications with a range of internal and external stakeholders as well as  and key authorities related to Capital Developments;
  • Provide high level strategic and professional leadership for the Capital Works Departments Portfolio in alignment with Maters Strategic Direction.

 

About you

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated success in a similar role in a large and complex organisation. You will possess the following:

 

  • Formal Qualification in either Project Management or Construction Management (minimum undergraduate degree).
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within major Capital Development programs in a Healthcare setting, including significant leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated successful project management of health care building and infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated successful management of budgets and financial planning.

 

Experience within a healthcare setting would be considered advantageous.
