Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900

What you’ll be doing

Mater Mother’s Hospital is seeking a talented and enthusiastic 5th or 6’th year trainee for the role of Advanced Gynaecology Trainee.  This role is ideally suited to trainees wishing to enhance their general and advanced gynaecological skills, while continuing to consolidate their antenatal, intrapartum and post-natal care of complex pregnancies.  This position provides ample opportunity for independent surgical practice, with consultant oversight.  We have established this position, recognising the increasing expectations of the generalist O&G to have a high level of general and laparoscopic gynaecological surgical skills and limited opportunities for advanced trainees to develop these skills outside of subspecialty training.  The Advanced Gynaecology roles includes exposure to colposcopy, ambulatory gynaecology, general gynaecology, advanced laparoscopy, fertility assessment and adolescent gynaecology.  This position will also include exposure to tertiary-level obstetrics whilst working in Australia’s largest maternity hospital.  There will also be an opportunity for interested registrars to participate in the Mater Flying O&G Service, comprising week-long gynaecology-focussed rotations to rural and regional Queensland.  Mater Mothers Hospitals have a dynamic education, audit and research program and the successful applicant will be expected to be actively involved in these activities.

About you

This Advanced Training role would ideally suit a Senior Registrar intending to pursue a career in general obstetrics and gynaecology and is specifically targeted at Level 5/6 trainees. The successful applicant may wish to undertake the Generalist Gynaecology ATM, the Colposcopy ATM and/or Hysteroscopy/Laparoscopy ATM.

Trainees who have completed their core training requirements are encouraged to apply. Experienced core trainees considering moving interstate will also be considered.
