About the role

Mater Mothers' Hospital (MMH) currently has an exceptional opportunity available for a Clinical Midwife to work as a Credentialed Diabetes Educator. This position is part time working 32 hours per week.

MMH is a leader in the provision of high-quality maternity and newborn services for the people of Queensland and northern New South Wales. Providing exceptional care and support for women and their families, we offer integrated services covering obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology, and maternal foetal medicine.

Salary range: $45.19 - $48.41 (RN Level 2) per hour plus superannuation

What you’ll be doing

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Midwife/Nurse with exceptional leadership and communication skills to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team providing care for women with diabetes in pregnancy. The successful applicant will have a clear understanding of evidence-based midwifery/ nursing practice and care of women with diabetes through pregnancy and postnatal periods.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Midwife
  • Considerable post-registration experience and a high level of clinical competency in Midwifery practice
  • High level organisational skills and the ability to work as a multi-functional team member
  • Strong clinical leadership and management skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Diabetes Education
  • Current credentialing with Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) or actively working towards this
  • Competence with education and support for women with diabetes.
