Mater is currently looking for several dynamic and collaborative Project Leads to join our Service Planning, Operational Readiness, Commissioning and FF&E team. This maximum-term (until project end), full-time position role will lead and coordinate the clinical planning and operational delivery of Mater Hospital Springfield – Stage 2. This role is based at our Springfield project hospital.

This unique role, that will see you be involved in a greenfield hospital build, will transition over two phases, Phase one – clinical services planning and Phase Two – operational readiness and commissioning.

Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900

What you’ll be doing

During phase one, you will:

  • Lead the co-design of clinical and support service models, planning activities and models of care / service delivery for MHS2 with key stakeholders and consumers
  • Developm and maintain project plans and registers including, but not limited to; clinical service plans; model of care plans, lessons learned, communication, risk and issues registers, benefits realisation
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services Planning and Design with relevant tasks associated with implementation and evaluation planning of developed models of care/ service delivery
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services Planning and Design with relevant tasks associated with service transition planning to ensure orderly transition of new and modified services into MHS2
  • Collaborate with the Communication and Engagement team tocoordinate change management processes, assisting impacted stakeholders in successfully transitioning from current state to future state across Mater Springfield Stage 1 and 2
  • Provide constructive and informative technical/clinical service design advice to key stakeholders

During phase two, you will:

  • Plan and coordinate staging and decanting to ensure optimisation of available space for continuation of safe, person-centred care
  • Support other operational commissioning activities as required, including transition planning and support, design and FF&E and change management
  • Coordinate benefits realisation implementation and management, ensuring benefits are realised through operational commissioning activities
  • Undertake project management activities by developing commissioning plans; formal project plans (and other plans as required); budgets; and supporting documentation, records and registers (including lessons learned, risk and issues registers)
  • Plan and lead the Commissioning of services to ensure preparedness for operation
  • Prioritisatise planned operational readiness i.e. ensure works are prioritised in a manner that minimised further business disruption, financial loss or safety
  • Be responsible for allocated tasks associated with the operational delivery of MHS2 under direction of the Director Operational Readiness
  • Provide constructive and informative technical/clinical operational readiness advice to clients, consultants and contractors
  • Coordinate required operational readiness requirements with end users, to ensure project objectives are met
  • Coordinate and implement the operational commissioning of MHS2
  • Prepare and distribute operational readiness tasks and other communications requirements.

About you

Ideally you will have tertiary qualification in project management, clinical redesign, change management or construction management or a Bachelor or equivalent in a clinical healthcare field.

Highly Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in a capital works orientated project environment
  • Previous experience with operational commissioning
  • Substantial experience working within hospital operating environments (preferably clinical or nursing management)
  • Demonstrated experience in working as a key member of a multi-disciplinary project team
  • Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Experience in clinical redesign of models of care or new services
