Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant in Nursing to join our team in a Casual capacity. You will gain experiences in all areas of the hospital with the opportunity for career progression within Mater.
Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has been supporting the health of people living in and around Rockhampton for more than a century. Today, our 136 bed facility features five operating theatres, a private emergency service and a wide range of specialised clinical services.
Salary Range: $32.55 - $35.99 (AIN) per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The Assistant in Nursing assists and supports the clinical teams in providing safe and quality patient-centred care under the direction of the Registered Nurse, Midwife or Enrolled Nurse, whatever the case may be.
- Assist in the provision of care and support of patients within the scope of Assistant in Nursing practice, professional expertise and recognised competencies by undertaking the following non-exhaustive methods if required:
- gathering information about patient care needs through observation and notification to the senior clinical staff of identified changes in the health and functional status of patients promptly;
- undertaking observations and assessments;
- following the direction and delegation of the appropriate senior clinical staff member;
- assisting with the patient’s hygiene, appearance and dietary consumption needs; and maintain a safe, sanitary and secure environment for patients.
About you
To be successful in an Assistant in Nursing role, you will have the following:
Essential qualifications
- Minimum Certificate III qualification in Individual Support or Health Services Assistance or studying towards equivalent or higher qualification
Desired qualifications
Working towards attainment of a Registered Nurse, Midwife or Enrolled Nurse qualification and in second or final year of studies
Experience
Prior comparable experience as an Assistant in Nursing or Personal Care Attendant/Assistant.
