Mater Education an exciting opportunity for an Educator to join us at our South Brisbane location. We are looking for someone to work part-time or full-time hours and this role will see you support our Diploma of Nursing.

As our new Educator you will deliver and assess education and training within the Registered Training Organisation. You will be responsible for student management and accountable for ensuring excellence in educational outcomes for students and employers within the organisation aligned to our mission and values.

Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900

What you’ll be doing

Typical duties of the Educator positions include:

  • Lead and manage effective teaching and learning within classroom, workplace, simulated and online learning environments
  • Utilise flexible, blended and inclusive learning techniques, options and products which are responsive to various student cohorts
  • Design, develop, implement and evaluate teaching and learning resources, assessment tools and processes that meet industry skills standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality of training and assessment provided to students
  • Develop effective working relationships with students, client groups and staff by participating in team meetings, student events and forums, inviting feedback and engaging in reflection
  • Ensure that students adopt, and practise accepted safety procedures and sustainability in the learning and assessment environment
  • Contribute to planning, design, development, implementation and review of educational programs
  • Participate in relevant professional learning activities
  • Undertake general administration duties including marking, monitoring of student attendance and progression, facilitating access to educational support and providing effective feedback and advice
  • Student management within portfolio
  • Representing Mater Education at expos and events as required

About you

To be considered for this role, applicants will have:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and experience working within an RTO environment 
  • Detailed understanding of the nursing profession and accreditation requirements
  • Ability to effectively manage and apply key conflict resolution skills in the student environment
  • Enthusiastic and engaging individual who is highly knowledgeable in the relevant industry
  • Strong adherence and acknowledgment of Policies and Procedures and industry requirements
  • Ability to work well with peer educators and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to other locations if needed (Springfield and Newstead)

Qualifications and Experience

Essential qualifications for all educators

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent 
  • Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Valid Working with Children Card (BlueCard)
  • Current Drivers License
