About the role

Mater’s Digital Technology and Information team has a unique opportunity for a Senior Product Engineer to join us on a 20-month maximum term contract. Reporting to the Resource Manager and located at our corporate office at Newstead you will be integral to the network activities within capital works projects including Springfield Stage 2 Project.

Salary range: Commensurate with experience per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing device lifecycle, software maintenance, and evergreen management of network systems and products.
  • Maintaining and supporting the Mater network infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks, voice systems, smart devices, critical messaging, access control, CCTV, BMS, and other building-related systems.
  • Providing technical oversight and problem-solving for operational and project-related activities.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement efforts to meet evolving clinical and business needs.
  • Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Tackling technical issues, ensuring system stability, and reporting on potential improvements.
  • Working within a team reporting to the Resource Manager to deliver timely solutions.

About you

  • A tertiary degree in subject matter expertise, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Education or training in information technology and industry certifications. ITIL Foundation highly desirable
  • A minimum of five years' experience in critical Network (Hard-Wired & WiFI), Security, and delivery environments.
  • Understanding of project management phases and processes.
  • Ability to support and promote a client-focused customer service delivery culture within IT.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation, consultation, and report presentation.
  • Understanding of ITIL principles and their application to IT operations.
  • You have a strong understanding of complex technical digital problems and can direct required outcomes for business continuity.
  • Able to provide strategic direction for project-related initiatives aligned with Mater's Digital Strategy.
  • Ability to act as a liaison between technical and clinical stakeholders, gathering business requirements and articulating solutions and workflows.
