About the role

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane’s busy Welcome Lounge & Day Procedure Unit is seeking an Registered Nurse to take up a permanent full time position, working 38 hours per week.

This role offers the opportunity to utilise best practice in the delivery of quality nursing care to our patients while working with a dynamic and supportive nursing team in a purpose-built setting.

Mater's Welcome Lounge & Day Procedure Unit will see you working within a range of areas including pre-operative waiting area, recovery bays and a discharge area, and the day surgery service. This unit forms a critical part of Mater Hospital Brisbane’s Surgical and Acute Nursing Services. Our exceptional nursing team are required to provide quality care across all of these areas, presenting opportunities and variety.

Mater Nursing and Midwifery Enterprise Agreement Salary range: $41.47 - $53.30 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As an enthusiastic and motivated RN, you will use your experience and skills to provide quality care to patients who are admitted for day surgery and inpatient care, ensuring excellent standards of nursing care at all times and work closely with patients and their families ensuring they experience a sensitive, welcoming and friendly environment at all times.

About you

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Recent surgical and/or perioperative experience including the management of patient process from admission through to discharge
  • Current AHPRA registration as an Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with other health professionals and community services in the delivery of health care
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • A demonstrated awareness of and involvement in quality and risk management
