Mater is currently looking for Undergraduate Students in Midwifery (USIM) to join our team on a casual basis to assist in several wards on our public and private post-natal wards. Availability and flexibility are of great importance to these casual roles. Please note these roles are due to commence in November.

Salary: $32.32 - $32.80 (Mater Nursing and Midwifery Wage Rates) per hour + super + access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As an Undergraduate Student in Midwifery or dual RN/RM, you will be required to work under the direct supervision and delegation of a Registered Midwife during all shifts. As a USIM, you will be partnered with a Registered Midwife to complete care for patients in a particular ward.

About you

To be considered suitable for the Students in Nursing Midwifery roles you will be required to:

  • Be a Undergraduate Student in Midwifery (at least 2nd year - 2nd semester) or a Dual Degree student (at least 3rd year - 1st semester)
  • Demonstrate Flexibility to perform in various wards (public and private), adaptability to seamlessly integrate into different teams and work under different MUMs
  • Consistent availability to complete shifts at short notice
  • Commitment to excellence in nursing Midwifery practice and professional development
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
  • Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems
