About the role

Mater has an exciting opportunity for an Enrolled Nurse to join the Mater Mothers’ Hospital Diabetes Service in the Obstetric Medicine team. This role is being offered on as a maternity leave contract for 16 hours a week commencing 31/3/2025 through to 5/4/2026.

In this role you will be responsible for the provision of patient centred nursing care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse to maximise effective patient outcomes.

Salary range: $35.88 - $38.21 (EN Levels 1-5) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Delivery of safe, quality nursing care under both direct and indirect supervision
  • Achieve optimal health outcomes through provision of nursing care
  • Utilise a problem-solving approach in order to provide the best nursing care
  • Effective identification, escalation and management of risk
  • Managing relationships and liaising effectively with other members of the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of optimal health care
  • Maintenance of appropriate levels of supplies

About you

Suitable applicants must have:

  • Current AHPRA Enrolled Nurse registration (no restrictions)
  • Previous experience in diabetes and digital health interface (desirable)
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and ability to work within the scope of Enrolled Nurse (Med) practice.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and time management skills to maximise patient care within the multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role of continuous quality improvement activities in the provision of care.
  • Demonstrated commitment to achieve internal and external customer and organisational outcomes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development.
  • An ability to work under minimal supervision
