About the role
Mater at Home has an exciting opportunity an experienced and highly motivated Consultant to join their dynamic team on a fixed term, 12 month, part time basis.
The Hospital in the Home (HITH) Consultant will ensure Mater’s HITH service delivers optimal patient outcomes, creates safe, high-quality patient experiences, and delivers on the key service performance indicators. This role is part of a small medical team, with responsibilities spanning the quadruple aim of achieving excellence in clinical outcome, financial stewardship, consumer experience, and engagement of Mater People.
Salary range: $100.77 - $117.05 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Working collaboratively with colleagues across Mater hospital facilities and the Mater at Home Leadership Team, the HITH Consultant will promote the clinical benefits of HITH through advocacy and advice to internal and external stakeholders alike. The HITH Consultant will support and foster the provision of effective, efficient, high-quality, evidence-based, low-variability clinical care.
This position involves supervising medical staff within the HITH Unit, overseeing the training of junior doctors, and participating in both informal and formal teaching. Additionally, the HITH Consultant will role model excellence by actively participating in quality programs, governance, risk assessment, service improvement, continuing education, clinical teaching, and research activities within the Mater Group.
About you
- Current Registration as Specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- FRACP or FACEM
- Demonstrated ability to review, analyse and evaluate patient care to
- identify appropriate treatment and investigations.
- Experience as a specialist in Hospital in the Home/Emergency Medicine/General Medicine/Infectious Diseases
