About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Patient Services Officer to join our busy Patient Services Department. This is a Casual opportunity with up to 24-32hours of work available per week. We are looking for someone who is flexible with their working hours. Shift times range from 5:45am through to 10pm Monday - Sunday.
The Patient Services teams are accountable for the end-to-end patient journey. These key functions include theatre bookings/administration, patient registration, admissions and customer experience, ward reception, health records, patient billings, public contracts and sessional suites.
Salary range: $31.24 - $36.44 per hour plus 25% casual loading plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Tasks may include but are not limited to;
- Patient admission, discharges and transfers
- Work within an interdisciplinary team environment and is responsible for the efficient, accurate and timely provision of a range of administrative services.
- Structure clinics for outpatient appointments
- Maintain effective relationship with consultants
- Medical record preparation, tracking, filing and maintenance
- Assisting with patient billing
- Wayfinding and general enquiries.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Demonstrated ability to work methodically with speed, efficiency, and exceptional attention to detail in a time-pressured environment.
- Proven experience working in an administrative role within a medical or hospital environment or extensive data entry experience.
- Sound computer literacy and numeracy skills, well-developed keyboard skills, and familiarity with patient administration systems.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and ability to work under the direction of others in a multidisciplinary team environment.
