About the role

Mater is currently looking for a Coordinator – Communications and Engagement (Social Media) to join our Corporate Affairs team in Brisbane.

This full-time role sits within a team of passionate communication, marketing and media professionals, promoting the work of one of Queensland’s leading healthcare, education and research organisations.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative social media specialist who:

  • Will embrace a unique opportunity to redevelop Mater’s social media framework and drive reach and engagement to a new level
  • Can create innovative, fun and engaging content for different social media channels
  • Is self-driven, motivated and across the latest trends on social media
  • Has a proven ability to work collaboratively within a broader marketing and communications team

Salary range: $76,963 - $85,591 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing
As a Coordinator – Communications and Engagement (Social Media) you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging, creative content that aligns with Mater’s corporate priorities.

You will collaborate with other members of the Corporate Affairs team, and will work at Mater’s various sites across South East Queensland to create original text, image and video content to amplify Mater’s presence and drive online audiences.

The duties will include:

  • Manage and oversee all social media content in alignment with the corporate strategy
  • Generate, edit, schedule, publish and share engaging content (e.g. original text, photos, videos, and infographics)
  • Measure the success of social media campaigns and report monthly on outcomes
  • Research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
  • Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimisation
  • Communicate professionally with social media followers, industry professionals and influencers, as required
  • Adhere to social media legal protocols, best practices and Mater’s Social Media Policy
  • Stay up to date with the latest social technologies, design tools, and applications

About you

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in communications, marketing or public relations (or relevant experience).  You will also have:

  • Three years’ minimum experience in a role with exposure to complex group environments
  • Ability to work independently, with support from the broader Corporate Affairs team
  • Highly developed writing and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proven track record in creating engaging content aligned to corporate strategies
  • Willingness to work after hours and be on call, if required
  • Experience working with professionals in a fast-paced service delivery environment
  • Familiarity with the healthcare sector is highly desirable
