Mater Foundation, one of Queensland’s largest healthcare fundraising organisations is looking for a dynamic, future focused, values based Marketing Specialist to join the team! This maximum-term (12 months), full-time role will be based at our Newstead campus.

What you’ll be doing
The purpose of this role is to drive growth and retention through a variety of marketing channels, with a focus on direct (email) marketing, for key Mater Foundation peer to peer fundraising events.
- Work with key stakeholders to develop and understand the audience and segmentation landscape for key peer-to-peer events to inform marketing recommendations and strategies.
- Develop and deliver marketing strategies to drive event participation including negotiating and delivering above the line channel activations within budget (radio, billboards etc)
- Develop and deliver targeted, data-driven email and SMS marketing communications to drive fundraising activation rates, participant engagement and cater to agreed sponsor deliverables for peer-to-peer campaigns
- Copywriting for all campaign and event collateral including emails, posters, event guides, website and any other required event collateral
- Create simple design assets via the use of Canva
- Develop, test and publish mid to complex marketing automation journeys and one off sends utilising segments, attributes and personalisation in the Braze email marketing platform.
- Work with events team to create and deliver all marketing materials required for event day including signage, merchandise and other assets as required
- Work closely with other areas of marketing and fundraising to develop and implement other complementary content for our campaigns including video, photographic and written content.
- Bring a performance focussed mindset, utilising reporting and analytics to support data driven decision making
- Collaborate across Mater Group to foster relationships with donors, patients, Mater staff and community supporters to develop story content for campaigns as required
- Collaborate with co-workers to manage and maintain communication channels, tools, processes and systems.
- Strive for continuous improvement and effectiveness of marketing activities.
- Actively build and advocate for a strong consumer/donor and patient focus across all areas of the organisation.
- Provide support for ongoing marketing activities to protect and enhance the Mater brand.
- Execute projects, events, and campaigns within budget and allocated timeframes and support the team to achieve strategic and operational objectives.
About you
You will have tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, media, or a related field; minimum 3–5 years' marketing experience, preferably within healthcare or not-for-profit sectors.
- Proven ability to deliver integrated marketing and communication campaigns that grow brand awareness and meet revenue targets.
- Strong copywriting skills, with experience in content creation across copy, design, and video; ability to translate technical information into compelling language.
- Highly proficient in email marketing and automation platforms (Braze desirable)
- Experience with data segmentation, analytics (GA, Looker Studio), and project management tools (e.g., Monday.com).
- Strong stakeholder collaboration, project coordination, and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated flexibility in managing dynamic workloads and a continuous learning mindset aligned with industry trends.

This position will require some out of hours work from time to time such as attendance at fundraising events and community activities. The responsibilities associated with these events and activities are likely to be varied and of a broad nature.
