About the role
Join our team at Mater Private Hospital Redland as an Administration Officer on a max term contract until December 2025, with the potential for extension. You will work 5 days a fortnight during convenient shift times of Monday – Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm.
This newly created position is crucial in supporting our administration team with Surgery Connect, focusing on providing exceptional care for public to private patients throughout their hospital journey. You will also receive training to work across our theatre bookings team, playing a key role in optimizing patient flow within our theatres.
Salary range: $38.81 - $43.16 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As an Administration Officer your role will involve but not limited to:
- Processing patient admissions, ensuring accurate data entry input and managing theatre schedule.
- You will frequently liaise with the VMO’s and their receptionists.
- Providing administrative support to clinical staff across the Patient Services and wider Mater team.
- Data entry and data integrity working across complex spreadsheets
- Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, complying with administration, and financial policies and procedures, maintaining accurate, current, and accessible files, including maintenance of records of relevant meetings and discussions.
- Provide administrative assistance to other senior staff and others as requested.
- Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Highly experienced in providing medical administration support (essential)
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel ability to confidently enter data into spreadsheets
- Highly developed time management and organisational skills
- Strong computer skills including competence in using Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn new systems)
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and ability to work under the direction of others in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, fast-paced and demanding environment.
