About the role

Mater Private Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for the role of Quality and Safety Manager to cover a maximum term contract until 28th December, working full time hours.

This position reports to the Director of Clinical Services Springfield and is responsible for activities relating to Quality and Clinical Safety Management, including accreditation, which are essential to the licensing, service level agreements and contracts of this service. This important role is embedded within the leadership team and will be suited to individuals who are self-motivated and able to manage a diverse range of activities whilst ensuring high quality communication.  

With a focus on quality systems, consumer experience and managing clinical risk/safety this role will work collaboratively to ensure quality governance systems and clinical risk frameworks are in place and functioning effectively, and there is a continuous improvement cycle in the delivery of high-quality healthcare.

Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

You will report directly to the Director of Clinical Services Mater Springfield and work collaboratively with the statewide Clinical governance team responsible for activities relating to Quality and Clinical Safety Management, and accreditation, across Mater Health, which are essential to the licensing, service level agreements and contracts. This role focuses on quality systems, consumer experience and managing clinical risk/safety.  This role will work collaboratively with staff and managers/clinicians to ensure quality governance systems are in place, clinical risk frameworks are functioning effectively, and there is a continuous improvement cycle in the delivery of high-quality healthcare.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Relevant qualification and/or substantial work experience in managing organisational clinical governance/quality systems at a group-wide and facility level
  • Be registered health practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, implementing and maintaining a quality management system and executing quality improvement measures
  • Demonstrated experience in evaluating workplace practices against accreditation standards, quality systems and organisational policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience in risk and change management
  • Develop, monitor and report on clinical practices and outcomes through data collection, analysis and reporting of relevant data, key performance indicators and outcome measures
