About the role
Mater Pharmacy South Brisbane currently has a new opportunity for a professional Pharmacy Technician - Purchasing to join our Hospital Pharmacy Inventory Management Team on a permanent full-time basis.
Mater Pharmacy is dedicated to the exceptional care and service of all our customers. We provide comprehensive pharmacy service and strive to maintain the highest level of professionalism in all our services. In addition to clinical pharmacy services, we provide traditional community pharmacy medicines and retail products to patients, visitors and staff.
Salary range: $31.24 to $35.66 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Purchase of Pharmaceuticals and Services and maintain optimum pharmacy stock levels, consistent with fast cycle time approaches and in accordance with pharmacy business policies and procedures
- Identify sources of supply and develop and maintain positive supplier relationships for maximal outcomes to benefit the Mater and its businesses
- Expedite outstanding Purchase orders and communicate these to customers.
- Ensure accuracy of all Purchase orders (e.g. item, quantity and price) and manage any discrepancies promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure effective communication with staff, departments and suppliers.
- Contribute to the effective utilisation and development of computerised systems required to support pharmaceutical logistics consistent with national best practice.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, regulations, codes and specifications for maintaining a safe, secure and efficient pharmaceutical supply
About you
Essential
- Ability to operate computer-based inventory systems.
- Driver’s License
Desirable
- Previous relevant work experience
- Ability to undertake manual handling in a logistics environment
- A professional attitude, effective communication skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Passion about customer service and appreciation of the importance of delivering exceptional service every time
- Professional, hardworking, willing to work cooperatively and effectively with all team members
- Certificate II or III in Hospital/Community Pharmacy (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation
