About the role

The Mater Mother’s Hospital Administration team has an opportunity available for an experienced Senior Administration Officer to join the Private Obstetric Medicine Clinic team in a full time, maximum term for 10 months capacity.

Mater Mothers' Hospitals are leaders in the provision of high-quality maternity and newborn services for the people of Queensland and northern New South Wales. Providing exceptional care and support of women and their families, Mater Mothers' Hospitals offer integrated services covering obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology, and maternal fetal medicine.

Salary range: $38.81 - $43.16 (MCA3) per hour plus superannuation and access to salary packaging

What you’ll be doing

  • Appointment booking and management including referrals
  • Clinic administrative support including \ reception duties
  • Perform inpatient and outpatient billing
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, complying with administration, and financial policy and procedures, maintaining accurate, current and accessible files, including maintenance of records of relevant meetings and discussions
  • Continually demonstrate highly developed written communication skills including ability to draft routine correspondence on behalf of the senior management
  • Provide administrative assistance to other senior staff and others as requested
  • Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined

 About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Highly experienced in providing medical administration support
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills
  • Strong computer skills including competence in using Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn new systems)
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Experience and knowledge of private practice billing and practical application of the MBS desirable
