About the role

Mater’s Group Finance Team has an exciting opportunity for a Funding and Revenue Analyst to join the team in this permanent, full-time position based at Newstead.

The Funding and Revenue Analyst role is crucial for analysing patient casemix data, funding models and revenue generation to provide strategic insights for decision-making and ensure accurate activity reporting across the organisation.

This position involves a combination of financial analysis, patient clinical classifications, data definitions, and funding model analysis to drive business process improvement and enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Salary range: $121,359 - $129,997 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

The primary responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Provide activity reports to support efficient service delivery in an Activity Based Funding environment
  • Conduct detailed quality improvements and analysis of patient data systems to optimise patient revenue
  • Analyse clinical classifications and data collection processes to enhance revenue generation
  • Perform modelling and scenario analysis for activity forecasts and budget trends
  • Offer solutions for service reviews and identify improvement opportunities
  • Respond to requests for specialised clinical data analysis
  • Develop user-friendly MS Power BI dashboards for service delivery insights
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About you

The ideal candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification in hospital funding, management accounting, or clinical costing.

  • Extensive experience in clinical classification and DRG optimisation in a tertiary healthcare setting
  • Experience working in the healthcare sector
  • Advanced skills in preparing and presenting complex reports for executive management
  • Expertise in classification systems for optimisation and Activity Based Funding efficiency
  • Advanced data analysis skills in casemix information systems for decision-making
  • Knowledge of clinical and financial reporting systems
  • Ability to acquire BI reporting skills for data visualisation and decision-making
  • Strategic thinking and innovative problem-solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills for conflict resolution, negotiation, and effective teamwork
