About the role
Mater Food Services are currently searching for multiple Cooks to join their busy team on a casual basis, based at our South Brisbane campus.
Reporting to the Kitchen Supervisor, this important role will see you providing high volume meals for our patients and staff as a part of a very busy environment and a member of a supportive team.
Please note you may be required to work across the Mater South Brisbane, Redland, and Springfield sites. This is a casual position however if you have full availability this is highly desired.
Salary range: $34.02 - $35.66 per hour plus 23% casual loading plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Contribute to the provision of high-quality food products for patients and buffet service.
- Prepare and present hot and cold dishes using various cooking methods and kitchen equipment.
- Follow portion sizes, recipes, cooking methods, and quality standards consistently.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the work area, including general kitchen cleaning duties.
- Ensure stock control, labelling, handling, and rotation procedures are followed for food safety.
- Work as part of a team to deliver food for patients within required time frames and at a high standard.
- Adhere to health, hygiene, and safety guidelines and report any issues promptly.
- Complete all training requirements and participate in meetings and performance appraisals
About you
- Certificate III in Cookery
- Demonstrated experience in bulk food preparation including vegetable and dessert cooking.
- Ability to read, follow and understand recipes, recipes methods and product being utilised for production.
- Demonstrated experience with cook/chill processes.
