Mater Research are looking for a Research and Administration Support Officer to join the team! This permanent, full time role will be based at our South Brisbane campus.

Salary range: $45.76 - $50.05 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The Research and Administration Support Officer will be responsible for the smooth and efficient delivery of administrative support to Queensland Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability and Autism Health (QCEIDAH) senior staff and research team.
- Provide high-level support to senior staff, ensuring coordination of diaries, travel logistics, and engagements critical to the Centre’s success.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment in managing sensitive correspondence and confidential communications.
- Triage and oversee Director’s email accounts, ensuring key priorities are actioned efficiently.
- Proactively identify and address Centre needs, initiating actions from Centre meetings and implementing solutions to improve workflow efficiency.
- Draft, edit and format agendas, presentations, all-staff communications, and routine correspondence to meet required timeframes and quality standards.
- Act as a liaison between the Centre and key internal and external partners to foster collaboration, building trust and acting with high integrity.
- Work collaboratively with the other professional teams across Mater to create synergies and promote the strategic goals of QCEIDAH and Mater Research.
- Contribute to work instructions, policies, or procedures to improve quality and efficiency of organisational functions of QCEIDAH and Mater Research.
- Provide administrative and operational support for Centre meetings when required, including compiling agendas, preparing minutes, and following up on action items.
- Manage education sessions and events organised for the Centre, including invitations, venue booking, catering, event information dissemination, audiovisual requirements and guest lists as required.
About you
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Minimum Certificate III in Business or equivalent relevant qualification or workplace experience
- Minimum of five years administrative experience in a corporate or academic setting including the provision of team support
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline highly regarded.
- At least two years’ experience in a Support Officer role supporting team members and help coordinating teamwork.
- Experience in a support officer role.
