About the role 

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has an opportunity to join the Health Capital Works Team as a Project Officer in this full time, max term 2-year contract based at Rockhampton. 

Reporting to the Director of Capital Works CNQ, the Project Officer is responsible for supporting the CNQ Capital Works Unit to deliver Health projects on the Mater Capital investment plan. They are an integral member of the Capital works team, providing administrative support and project co-ordination across the lifecycle of CNQ projects. This is an exceptional opportunity to work within the health subspecialty area that has a long-term future pipeline of projects.  Would suit someone wishing to progress from a construction administration role to delivering hospital projects in a team. 

Salary range: $105,563 - $114,843 (MCA5) per hour plus 11.5% superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!  

What you’ll be doing 

The Project Officer is primarily responsible for: 

  • Administrative tasks including, diary management, agenda preparation, minute taking, organising project events, document control and administration support 
  • Establish and maintain effective records management and project systems 
  • Develop strong relationships with key Mater internal stakeholders and external stakeholders 
  • Monitor implementation of Project Communications Plan 
  • Support Project managers in all aspects of the project implementation and development as requested 
  • Participate in developing project documents and proposals 
  • Report on project activities and expenditure as requested by the Project Manager and according to project timelines 
  • Manage administrative and financial procedures including managing invoicing and cost tracking as required using Microsoft D365 and DocuSign 
  • Assist in the Furniture Fixtures and Equipment (FFE) procurement where required during certain stages of the project 
  • Keep up to date Project governance plans, risk and issues register 
  • Assist with administration of project closure and Defects Management Systems as required at project completion 
  • Actively organise, assist, and participate in project meetings/workshops/training 

About you 

To be considered for this role you will have demonstrated success in a similar role within a large and complex organisation, coupled with the following qualifications: 

  • 3 to 5 years overall professional experience with preferable 1 to 2 years expertise in project co-ordination 
  • Excellent written, oral communication, interpersonal and customer service skills 
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain a high degree of confidentiality 
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills 
  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Advanced use of full suite of Microsoft software including Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point  
  • Understanding and ability to develop skills Adobe Acrobat (read and write capabilities) 
  • Knowledge of or the ability to learn computer programs pertaining to the area i.e. Publisher, Flowcharter/MS Visio, and MS Project
