About the role

Mater’s Digital Technology and Information (DTI) team has an exciting opportunity for a Test Lead to join the team in this full time, maximum term, 9-month leave coverage August 2025 based at our Newstead offices.

Reporting to the Service Manager - Test & Automation, the Test Lead will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the day-to-day application testing activities within DTI. This position will require strong planning skills, test execution expertise and governance of all testing activities to ensure the successful delivery of initiatives.

Salary range: $136,034 - $145,990 (MCA 7) per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Review and validate test cases documentation for alignment with requirements and technical specifications
  • Develop DTI Testing knowledge repositories and templates
  • Lead the development of quality assurance goals and testing framework
  • Provide training and mentoring to team members on standards and technology adoption
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans for testing delivery
  • Review test execution outcomes and identify automation opportunities
  • Lead test phase closure activities and test planning activities
  • Interact with other team leaders and business stakeholders to manage testing activities effectively
  • Manage team members, set KPIs, and provide necessary direction for deliverables

About you

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, IT, or management with experience as a Senior Test Analyst or Automation Tester.

  • Prior experience in the Health Industry is desirable
  • ISTQB Certification – Advanced Level is desirable
  • Demonstrated success in achieving change and business efficiency improvement outcomes
  • Strong knowledge of testing lifecycle and processes
  • Experience in Agile and Waterfall delivery models
  • Proficiency in test management tools such as Quality Centre, Azure DevOps, Jira
  • Proficient in programming languages for automation tools (e.g., Selenium, UFT, Katalon)
  • Curious about customer processes and problem-solving
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of testing interfaces, such as APIs
