About the role
Mater’s Group Finance – Supply Chain Operations Team has an exciting opportunity for a Manager Purchasing Operations to join the team in this permanent, full-time position based at our Newstead offices.
The Manager Purchasing Operations leads a team in a centralised supply chain operations model, overseeing program management, technological change and efficiency improvements. This role is responsible for standardising purchasing and cataloguing processes across the State to drive continuous improvement. Fostering collaborative relationships with suppliers and customers while working closely with the Manager Supply Chain Operations to achieve quality excellence and performance outcomes.
Salary range: $136,034 - $145,990 (MCA 7) per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
This role collaborates with stakeholders to support Mater's growth and development.
- Lead purchasing operations team, implementing process improvements and managing performance
- Drive change in purchasing and cataloguing operations to support centralised model vision and benefits
- Develop purchasing and cataloguing policies and guidelines for standardisation and continuous improvement
- Implement performance measures and reporting expectations for team outcomes
- Ensure standardised processes are adopted and support team in adapting to new ways of working
- Monitor purchasing activities to prevent excessive inventory holdings and financial impacts
- Provide operational compliance support and address team feedback
- Ensure ERP compliance and suggest improvements for automation opportunities
- Facilitate cohesive team leadership and set performance objectives
- Provide day-to-day leadership to team leaders and manage recruitment, performance and development
- Develop induction and onboarding practices for learning and knowledge sharing
- Support Procurement team engagement with Suppliers as part of any ongoing Contract performance management framework as required
- Support and engage with suppliers on demand forecasting requirements as required
- Support clinical governance forums and ensure work health and safety practices
About you
The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in Purchasing or Inventory Management, or equivalent.
- Essential supply chain operations and purchasing expertise in a large, complex organisation, ideally within healthcare
- Experience in program and change management within high-impact transformations
- Essential leadership and team management skills, including coaching for performance
- Significant knowledge of digital purchasing platforms and ERP systems required
- Experience in benefits realisation and financial management for supply chain operations improvement
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to lead and influence diverse stakeholders
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety and continuous improvement efforts
