About the role
Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking an Operating Theatre Assistant to join our Perioperative team in South Brisbane. The Operating Theatre Assistant is a part of the perioperative team delivering consistent, high-quality care to adult and obstetric patients undergoing surgery.
We are recruiting a permanent full-time position. This position supports our daily operations, and successful candidates need to be available for a 24/7 roster.
Salary range: $34.02 - $35.66 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Setting up the theatre for surgery with the required equipment
Patient positioning and transfers
Clean contaminated equipment and other used items as required
General housekeeping duties e.g. cleaning beds, organising linen, restocking of equipment, and waste management
About you
Essential criteria
Work as an active team member to support all work tasks
Strong communication skills
Commitment to ongoing service excellence
Ability to prioritise and organise work with minimal supervision
Available for a 24/7 roster
Desirable criteria
Currently hold a Certificate III in Health Care Support (Operating Theatre Practice) or Certificate III in Health Services Assistance
Minimum of two years previous experience in an Operating Theatre Assistant role would be highly desirable
