About the role
Mater Clinical Education Team is looking for an experienced Scrub Scout Clinical Nurse or Registered Nurse to step into a Clinical Facilitator - Scrub Scout role. The permanent, part-time (32 hours per week) position is based at our South Brisbane campus. This role will support the Education Coordinator in the delivery of education strategies included in Mater Health’s Strategic and Operational Plans. Additionally, you will promote and implement best practice/evidence-based practice; promote critical thinking and clinical problem solving; and consistency in care delivery within a practice development and robust education model.
Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As Clinical Facilitator you will be primarily responsible for supporting the professional development of the nursing team and have a commitment to education and to delivering safe, quality, evidence-based patient care.
Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate clinical learning opportunities to address knowledge and skill gaps
Collaborate to create flexible and evidence-based learning resources
Support professional development and performance improvement processes
Provide constructive feedback to staff
Use simulation and other methodologies to enhance knowledge application and critical thinking
Seek innovation and improvement in education and clinical practice
Embrace and support staff through change processes
Engage in educational research and quality improvement activities
Ensure staff meet education requirements
Promote a culture of learning and empowerment
Partner with interprofessional staff and patients to determine priorities
Align education activities with best practices and technology
Maintain relationships with partners to enhance education and clinical services
Utilise data for decision-making and reporting
Support Transition to Professional Practice staff and students
Contribute to corporate education programs and seek feedback for improvements
Assist with orientation and onboarding programs
Identify evidence-based improvements for high-quality care
Promote staff satisfaction and improve clinical outcomes through professional development
About you
You will have a minimum 3 years of recent clinical experience working as a Scrub Scout Clinical Nurse or Registered Nurse within the perioperative environment. Neuroscience and or robotic experience is highly desirable. You will also meet the below criteria:
Post graduate qualifications in specialty and/or education
Demonstrated experience in clinical facilitation and preceptorship
TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or willingness to work towards achieving
High Level communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Strong focus on professional self-development and that of others
